Hoover Platinum Lightweight Bagged Vacuum with Canister Review

Suction Power / Effectiveness:
If you are looking for a vacuum that has a great deal of suction power, then you are in luck because the Hoover Platinum Lightweight Bagged Vacuum is a winner. Some would say this is because is it a bagged model, but it routinely beats most competing models when it comes to how effectively it cleans carpets. This vacuum can work great for pet owners because of its cleaning power.
With the use of direct air flow and Hoovers loved WindTunnel Technology cleaning with the consumer loved model if fun and easy.

Ease of Use:
One of the most important aspects of any vacuum is how easy it is to use. Most people don’t want to purchase a heavy, bulky, hard to use vacuum. The Hoover Platinum Lightweight Vacuum – UH30010COM model weights just a tad over 11 pounds. This makes it one of the lightest upright vacuums that we have tested. And don’t forget the added bonus of the canister that is included in the package that weighs in just above 5 pounds.
There are a couple different things to keep in mind before buying this model. You need to take a look at the pile height of the carpet in your home. If you happen to have high pile carpet then this vacuum may not work the best for you. It does a great job on low to medium pile carpet, but it comes with an auto height adjustment system and struggles when it starts cruising over high pile.
The beater bar brush comes with a couple of different power speed settings, which is really handy. It does not however have an off button, so be careful when using the Hoover Platinum on hardwood floors. If you have stairs in your home then you will want to use the canister to vacuum them. It is easy to carry and makes cleaning stairs a breeze.

Filtration:
Another bright spot this model offers is the HEPA bag filter it comes with. Not only does the bag do a great job of keeping dust and other allergens out of the air in your home. It does this at a rate of 99.97% at 3 microns. Do keep in mind that these bags do have to be replaced and are not designed to be used for the life of the vacuum.

Durability:
Paying attention to the warranty that a vacuum comes with can be important for maintenance. The Hoover Platinum Lightweight Bagged Vacuum with Canister comes with a limited 6 year warranty. This covers everything except the brushroll, disposable HEPA bag, and damaged caused from misuse of the product. Some owners have had some trouble with the circuit board the vacuum runs on. It is rare when someone purchases one with this issue, but it is something that can happen. Make sure to try and return to the place you purchased it if you are still within your return time frame.

Bottom Line:
We love this vacuum. It is one of the top models that we have reviewed and would definitely recommend it to anyone in the market for a vacuum. Obviously you need to compare against the other models available to make sure it meets your needs, but you will not regret purchasing the Hoover Platinum Upright.
